Our Commitment to Conservation, Education & Youth
The York Pointer & Setter Club is dedicated to advancing conservation, education, and the traditions of upland hunting as part of our charitable mission. In alignment with our status as a 501(c)(3) organization, we actively support initiatives that protect wildlife habitat, educate the public about pointing dog breeds and responsible practices, and foster the next generation of outdoor enthusiasts. Through hands-on efforts, outreach, and mentorship, we strive to make a lasting impact on our sport and our community.
We are committed to preserving and improving wildlife habitat both on our grounds and in surrounding areas. Our members actively participate in conservation efforts such as planting native grasses, managing invasive species, and maintaining cover that supports upland birds and other native wildlife.
We promote knowledge of upland hunting traditions and purebred pointing dogs through seminars, training demonstrations, and public outreach. Our programs highlight responsible breeding, dog handling, and training, while also introducing the public to the history and role of pointing breeds in conservation.
We invest in the future of the sport by providing youth with hands-on learning opportunities in dog handling, training, and conservation. Through clinics, events, and mentorship, we encourage responsible ownership, sportsmanship, and a lifelong appreciation for the outdoors.
